On the 15th and 17th of January, the circuit girls met in Flachau. After a first slalom on January 12th, the Austrian resort effectively hosted a second slalom and a giant slalom following the cancellation of the events originally planned in Ofterschwang. After her failure to qualify in the first slalom, Adeline was even more determined to start from the front this weekend. Boulie achieved a good thirteenth place in the giant slalom on Sunday: a result that feels good after the last few complicated weeks.
Losing speed in the slalom
Since her beautiful twelfth place in Courchevel (giant slalom) on December 20th, Adeline encountered slower times in contrast with her good start to the season … The Gêtoise struggled in slalom with a second round exit in Lienz, then two non-qualifications at Santa Caterina and in the first slalom in Flachau, at the beginning of last week. She wants to quickly get back to her best in this discipline, she had a great first race in Aspen earlier in the season, with the fifth fastest time in the first act. “In slalom, I need more hours of training in order to compete with the best. I had a great race for my return to the World Cup in Aspen (eleventh place), then I lost confidence on the following slaloms and everything has to be redone. I look forward to the next event in Maribor in late January so that I can regain the feel for this discipline. ” In Flachau, it was Veronika Velez-Zuzulova who was the success of the week’s operation, with two wins in the two slaloms. Swedish Frida Hansdotter took second and third place.
Back in the top 15 in giant slalom!
Sunday’s giant slalom appeared as capital for Adeline, to curb this bad spiral … Heading off with bib 19, the Gêtoise completed a good first run, clean and in tempo for the entire course. Upon completion, it was the twelfth provisional time. The second act was to be of the same ilk for Boulie who ultimately took thirteenth place within twenty hundredths of the top 10! The German Viktoria Rebensburg saw her first win of the season in the giant slalom, in front of Ana Drev and Federica Brignone.
A good result for Adeline who gathers points in order to pick better start numbers. She is a regular of the giant slalom with a tenth place in Aspen, twelfth in Courchevel and thirteenth this weekend in Flachau. She also took nineteenth place in the Are giant slalom last December. Performances that promise the best for the future: “In the giant slalom, I want to do as well as I do in the race … It’s a shame because I do not ski at all like that in training! It’s frustrating but I know that I am coming from far back. This season is not over yet, we still have a lot to play with in the other races to catch up with others in the top 10! »
